Timeline Event
1920 she was born.
1933 she left school.
1942 she joined Australian Wemen'sArmy Sevice-
she married (Bruce Walker).
1950 she worked as domestic in the household of RaphaelCilento.
1953 she gave birth to her second son(Vivan Walker).
1991 Vivian died.
1953 joined the communist party of Australia.
1958 joined the Queensland Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders.
1960 attended the annual conferences for the federal council for Aboriginal Advancement.
1962 she became Queensland's first state secretary.
1964 (we are going) her first poem was published.
1968 she went to the world council of churches in London.
1970 she supported Pittock amendments to the FCAATISI constitution.
1972 she bought a property on Minjeribah established the Noonuccal Wghile Education and cultural center.
1985 she appeared with her grandson(Penis Walker).
1988 she adopted her traditional name Oodgeroo.
1993 she died.

she changed her priorities in 1970 when she returned to her beloved Stradbroke Island, she focused on art and education.
Achievement
Oodgeroo has achieved many things such as being the first Aboriginal woman to publish a book verse.
She became Queensland’s first state secretary and she also won many literary awards such as the Mary Gilmore medal and the Fellowship of Australian Writers' Award.
